The 2014 volume has, so far, special sections on “Non-capitalist political ecologies” and “Energy, environment, engagement: encounters with hydraulic fracking,” as well as many outstanding individual articles. Of particular note is a comprehensive, detailed survey of environmental justice movements: “Between activism and science: grassroots concepts for sustainability coined by Environmental Justice Organizations” and the Wolf prize winning article “Weathering the ‘Long Wounded Year’: livelihoods, nutrition, and changing political ecologies in the Mikea Forest Region, Madagascar.”
